Reduction Firing Video

Here is a video I made while firing my kiln for the first time. I will post more pictures as soon as I have time. Enjoy!

Really great, Mike. Thanks for sharing this. the kiln looks pretty manageable, even for me, once the heat is distributed evenly. Would like to see the pots at more direct angles. I know you're working on it. Thanks again.

Wow, I'm surprised you didn't burn your camera (or your eye balls!) That looked like a long ol' day with a lot of kiln watching! Thanks for sharing the video.

It was a long day...but a good one. Hopefully I can get firing #2 in some day soon. I'm shooting for next weekend.

Mike: I just got my Torchbearer up and ready to fire, and have NO IDEA what I'm doing, so I did asearch and found your blog. I watched the video of your first firing, which was a great production. How did you do that without burning up the camera?

But where are the rest of your blogs? Did you quit posting? I can't find anything after November 09.

I'll keep checking back, but if there's something I'm missing about viewing your blog, please send advice.

Ruth - I haven't blogged in some time. Work and life has been busy. I plan to get back to it this week. Please check back soon...I'm about to fire the Torchbearer next week!

I'm glad you're back! I thought you must have quit the pottery gig. Glad life is letting you get back to it. I'm looking forward to reading about your torchbearer adventures.
